What is DLC in Medical
DLC stands for Differential Leukocyte Count. It is a blood test that measures the number and types of white blood cells (WBCs) in your body. WBCs are an important part of your immune system and help fight infections.
The DLC test can help your doctor diagnose a variety of conditions, including

The DLC test is typically performed as part of a complete blood count (CBC). A CBC measures the number of all blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
To perform the DLC test, a small sample of blood is drawn from your arm. The blood is then stained and examined under a microscope by a lab technician. The technician counts the number of each type of WBC and calculates the percentage of each type in your blood.
The normal range for the DLC test varies depending on your age, gender, and health status. However, in general, the following percentages are considered normal
* Neutrophils 40-70%
* Lymphocytes 20-40%
* Monocytes 2-8%
* Eosinophils 1-4%
* Basophils 0-1%
If your DLC results are outside the normal range, your doctor may order further tests to determine the cause.
