My Top 10 21st-Century Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have been one of the most successful teams in the NHL in the 21st century, winning three Stanley Cups and making the playoffs 16 times. The team has been led by a number of superstar players, including Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Duncan Keith.

Here is my list of the top 10 Blackhawks players of the 21st century:

10. Brent Seabrook

Seabrook was a key member of the Blackhawks’ three Stanley Cup-winning teams. He was a physical and reliable defenseman who could also contribute offensively. Seabrook played 1,111 games for the Blackhawks, scoring 69 goals and adding 395 assists.

9. Marian Hossa

Hossa was one of the most prolific scorers in the NHL during his time with the Blackhawks. He scored 186 goals and added 229 assists in 534 games for the team. Hossa was also a great playoff performer, scoring 52 goals and adding 89 assists in 172 playoff games.

8. Patrick Sharp

Sharp was a dynamic offensive player who was known for his speed and skill. He scored 264 goals and added 344 assists in 656 games for the Blackhawks. Sharp was also a key member of the Blackhawks’ three Stanley Cup-winning teams.

7. Corey Crawford

Crawford was the Blackhawks’ starting goaltender for much of their success in the 21st century. He won two Stanley Cups with the team and was a finalist for the Vezina Trophy twice. Crawford played 488 games for the Blackhawks, recording a save percentage of .918 and a goals-against average of 2.50.

6. Niklas Hjalmarsson

Hjalmarsson was another key member of the Blackhawks’ three Stanley Cup-winning teams. He was a shutdown defenseman who was known for his physical play and his ability to block shots. Hjalmarsson played 646 games for the Blackhawks, scoring 19 goals and adding 145 assists.

5. Kris Versteeg

Versteeg was a versatile forward who could play at center or on the wing. He was a skilled scorer and passer who was also a good defensive player. Versteeg played 266 games for the Blackhawks, scoring 79 goals and adding 144 assists. He was a key member of the Blackhawks’ 2010 Stanley Cup-winning team.

4. Bryan Bickell

Bickell was a power forward who was known for his size and his ability to score goals. He played 341 games for the Blackhawks, scoring 70 goals and adding 91 assists. Bickell was a key member of the Blackhawks’ 2013 Stanley Cup-winning team.

3. Joel Quenneville

Quenneville was the head coach of the Blackhawks from 2008 to 2018. He led the team to three Stanley Cups and was named the Jack Adams Award winner as the NHL’s Coach of the Year three times. Quenneville is one of the most successful coaches in NHL history.

2. Patrick Kane

Kane is one of the most dynamic offensive players in NHL history. He has scored 438 goals and added 761 assists in 1,151 games for the Blackhawks. Kane has won three Stanley Cups with the team, and he has been named the Hart Memorial Trophy winner as the NHL’s MVP once. He is also a two-time winner of the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL’s leading scorer.

1. Jonathan Toews

Toews is the captain of the Blackhawks and is one of the most respected players in the NHL. He is a complete player who excels at both ends of the ice. Toews has won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks, and he has been named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the NHL’s Playoff MVP once. He is also a two-time winner of the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL’s top defensive forward.

This list is just my opinion, and there are many other great Blackhawks players who could have been included. But these are the 10 players who I think have made the biggest impact on the team in the 21st century.
